Welcome
to the
Monticello District
Website
Stonewall Jackson Area Council
Here you will find answers to most of your questions
about the Boy Scouts of America program in the Monticello
District and information on how to contact us to find out
more. If there's something you want to contribute (an
idea, words to your favorite campfire song, suggestions
for the Website or the Scouting program), just let us
know. We want to make this site helpful to veteran
leaders as well as to the newest Tiger Cub parent.

"From experience, the Boy Scouts of
America has learned that one sure way to get more youth into
Scouting is to have more units available for them to join. One
person can't effectively organize a new unit alone, but one
person can motivate others to get involved. It takes a team to
organize a new unit. That team usually consists of the district
executive, new-unit organizer, unit commissioner, trainer and is
supported by district committee members." March 26th

Newsletters Pages.

If your
son is older, consider Boy Scouts for
ages 11- 18. The program goals are the
same as Cub Scouts but the methods are more
boy-leader & outdoor oriented. Your
son will learn new skills and experience new
adventures that will emphasize leadership
and teamwork. Do you have a daughter who is
entering the 9th grade. If so, consider
our co-ed program called
Venturing. Venturers are
young men and women ages 14 - 20. Each
Venture Crew sets it's own guidelines and
focus. High adventure opportunities
abound.
