- Cub Scout Fall Roundup Recruitment August 28, 2008
Calling all boys in 1st-5th grade and their parents! Boy Scouts
of America is holding Cub Scout fall recruitment meetings at
local area schools and churches on Thursday, August 28th at 7:00
PM. BSA's Cub Scout program allows boys to grow through a wide
variety of activities like camping, fishing, hiking, archery,
skits, songs, crafts, and much, much more! These activities are
used to achieve the aims of Scouting - citizenship training,
character development, and personal fitness.
BSA also offers the year-round Boy Scout program for boys in
grades 6th-12th which continues the aims of Scouting while
providing a solid outdoor program and Venturing, a co-ed,
high-adventure youth development program for young men and women
aged 14-20. Venturing's purpose is to provide positive
experiences to help young people mature and to prepare them to
become responsible and caring adults. For more information on
any of the Scouting programs, please contact Richard Bogan at
434-882-0611 or
monticello763@hotmail.com.

If your
son is older, consider Boy Scouts for
ages 11- 18. The program goals are the
same as Cub Scouts but the methods are more
boy-leader & outdoor oriented. Your
son will learn new skills and experience new
adventures that will emphasize leadership
and teamwork. Do you have a daughter who is
entering the 9th grade. If so, consider
our co-ed program called
Venturing. Venturers are
young men and women ages 14 - 20. Each
Venture Crew sets it's own guidelines and
focus. High adventure opportunities
abound.
