About the Monticello
District
The Monticello District is one of four districts in the Stonewall
Jackson Area Council of the Boy Scouts of
America. The district
presently serves over 2200 youth (boys ages 7-21 and girls 14-21) in the
city of Charlottesville and the counties of Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene,
Louisa, Orange, and Madison. The youth are served through their Cub Scout
packs, Boy Scout troops, Venturing crews and Explorer
posts. Several hundred adult volunteers in the District make this
possible, supported by a professional district executive and by
Council-level staff who work at the Council service center in Waynesboro
